Three self catering apartments to rent and two bed and breakfast studios - all Clévacances 3 clés/4* each with an outdoor terrace, 4 minutes walk from the sandy Mediterranean beach of Argelès-sur-Mer, with mountain views of the glorious Pyrenees, large swimming pool and Jacuzzi spa pool.

What to do in and around Argelès-sur-Mer

If you want to relax there is ample room to do that in the peace and tranquility of your apartment, terrace, pool and pool area at La Cigale. The owners, resident in their own part of the villa, are happy to offer help and advice when possible.

Eating out is very easy with many restaurants within walking distance. It takes less than 5 minutes to walk to the boulangerie (open most of the year) or supermarket (open all year).

One real attraction La Cigale offers is its location - just 4 minutes walk from the beach. In the high season, July and August it can be busy but not overbearing. You can always find room on the beach and if you want to venture into the mountains you may find yourselves alone. C'est la Vie Holidays has a link with 'Central Windsurf' www.central-windsurf.com located on the beach near us. They provide facilities for lessons and the hire of windsurfing boards, catarmarans, fun boats and kayaks as well as daily and weekly hire of beach sun loungers with sun-shades. They are able to offer some concessions for our guests.

There are numerous places to visit in the surrounding area catering for diverse interests - walking, water activities, playing golf, art exhibitions, musical concerts, historical buildings, wine caves....the list is endless.

Some of our favourite places are Site de Paulilles (15 min drive) Aqualand (5 minutes drive), Parc du Valmy (5 minute drive) Collioure (10 minute drive or 30 minute boat ride from Port Argelès), Carcassonne (1 hr 15 minute drive) and Castelnou (30 minute drive). Perpignan has many places of interest and is worth a day's visit at least.

If you wish to go further afield but not drive yourself, coach excursions leave from the end of the road in mid and high season.

The proximity to Spain and Andorra allows visitors to benefit from a change in language and culture but not currency!!

In winter the nearest ski and snowboarding resorts can be reached within one and a half hours by car.

For those wishing to attend church, the Roman Catholic Church is at the end of Avenue des Mimosas. In summer, services are held outdoors, in the Pine Forest. From July to early September, there are Anglican services run by ICS at 11am in the same building. There is a large lively Protestant Evangelical Church in Perpignan where there is an English translation service, via headphones, available all year. Riverchurch is a newly formed group aimed at English speaking people and we can give you more information about their meetings as well as all the others mentioned.
